The Wolfpack Reaches New Heights
Ceiling Renovation Adds Light + Space
We were honored to partner with Chicago Public Schools to lead the renovation of Kate Starr Kellogg Elementary School’s gymnasium ceiling. This vital space is more than a gym—it serves hundreds of students throughout the day in before and after school care, lunches, and physical education.
The drop ceiling and its tiles were removed to reveal the original ceiling, which was refinished with newly installed acoustic panels and new energy efficient light fixtures.
Built in 1937, the school’s namesake Kate Starr Kellogg was a Hull House suffragette, union advocate, and an educator most known for her innovative teaching style that championed student self-expression and experiential learning.
