Future-proofing Beman’s Gilded Age Mansion

The Edward H Turner House, an eclectic single-family home with Queen Anne influences, includes a large two-story turreted tower, a sweeping limestone front porch, wooden clad interiors, and seven fireplaces.

The home was designed by architect Solon Spencer Beman, built in 1888 for Turner, and then later owned by the co-founder of Nabisco National Biscuit Company, Adolphus W Green.

Farr Associates, working with J&L Architects, is renovating the residence with upgraded interior systems, added building insulation, all-electric utility service, and healthy materials such as locally-fabricated millwork, and Red-List free low- to no-VOC finishes and materials.
