We see historic preservation and adaptive reuse as a sustainability two-for-one: preserving irreplaceable history while conserving a building’s embodied energy. Farr Associates has won awards for historic preservation and we are leaders in sustainable preservation. Past preservation projects range in scale from single-family residences to much larger projects, like retrofitting historic institutional buildings into multifamily housing and lofts, and the conversion of the historic Sears powerhouse into a green technology charter high school.
